Episode 126 - Life After Death Via Song

COCKTAIL OF THE WEEK!
SAZERAC
3 oz. Straight Rye Whiskey or Cognac
one bar spoon of sugar (I like to use half smoked, half not)
2 dashes of Peychaud Bitters, 2 dashes creole bitters
A couple bar spoons of Absinthe, Herbsaint, Pernod or equivalent
Lemon Peel
Muddle the sugar, bitters and lemon peel in a mixing glass. Add the whiskey or cognac and stir as if your life depended on it. Add ice and stir some more. Wash a chilled double old fashioned glass with the Absinthe, discarding the excess, drinking it as a shot or saving it for next time, whatever, I don't know your life, I'm not your real dad. Stir the whiskey one or two more times and then strain into the glass, fishing the lemon peel out of the mixing glass and adding it and, finally, garnish with a Luxardo cherry.
